The Greater Philadelphia Association of REALTORS® is a membership organization whose purpose is to provide education, information, and legislative advocacy for licensed real estate professionals and related service providers in the Greater Philadelphia area. We are also advocates for private property owners and real estate consumers. Originally founded in 1908 as the Philadelphia Real Estate Brokers Association, GPAR has grown to become the most influential professional real estate association in Philadelphia.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors® is to enhance the ability and opportunity of its members to conduct their business successfully and ethically, and to promote the preservation of the right to own, transfer and use real property.

The primary customers of the Greater Philadelphia Association of Realtors® are the professional agents and the firms they represent.

The Greater Philadelphia Association of REALTORS® invites its members to get involved in the Association by serving on a committee. Committee involvement is a great way to network with other members, to learn about the Association and to help shape the direction of the Association. We also want to thank those members for donating their time and talents by serving GPAR in a leadership committee role. Affiliate Committee
The Affiliate Committee is comprised of affiliate members who work in the Philadelphia real estate industry, but not as a REALTOR®. This committee is focused on creating networking and business development opportunities for the entire membership of GPAR.

Diversity Committee
The Diversity Committee works to promote equal opportunity in housing and diversity within the real estate industry. They identify the concerns and needs of minority GPAR members and to assist in the development of actions to address those concerns and needs. The committee also promotes changes in real estate business practices to reflect the growing cultural diversity within Philadelphia.

Executive Committee
The Executive Committee conducts the affairs of GPAR in accordance with the policies and instructions of the Board of Directors. They recommend new policies, changes in policy, or rescission of existing policies of GPAR to the board. The Executive Committee is composed of President, serving as Committee Chair; Vice President; First Vice President; Secretary: Treasurer; and Immediate Past President.

Government Affairs Committee
The Government Affairs Committee is comprised of GPAR members who are experienced, understand the legislative process, especially on the local level, and how public policy can impact the real estate industry. This committee works closely with our Government Affairs Director to determine the key legislative priorities and how to most effective advocate on behalf of the association.

Grievance Committee
The Grievance Committee reviews ethics complaints and arbitration requests to determine if, taken as true on their face, could constitute a violation of the Code of Ethics, the Grievance Committee will refer the complaint to the Professional Standards Committee for a hearing by an ethics or arbitration hearing panel.

Horizons Committee
The Horizons Committee is the strategic thinking arm of GPAR. It’s established to generate questions, identify industry issues, trends and concerns and recommend items to be added to GPAR’s Strategic Plan.

Professional Standards Committee
The Professional Standards Committee makes decisions on matters involving ethics complaints and arbitration requests. The Professional Standards Committee advises and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors on matters relating to the Code of Ethics.

REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC)
The REALTOR® Political Action Committee promotes participation in RPAC by GPAR membership. The committee develops and organizes fundraising goals and creates activities to encourage investment in RPAC. Additionally, they help members understand the value of participation and its impact on advancing issues that are important to the real estate community.

Young Professional Network Committee (YPN)
The Young Professional Network Committee works to empower and develop new REALTORS® in Philadelphia. YPN provides a way for our newest members to network and learn from one another, through both social events and education aimed at helping them enhance their real estate prowess and increase their survivability in a highly competitive industry. The committee also encourages participation in other committees, on both the local and state level and involvement in policy discussions and advocacy.

Matthew G. Braden, Chief Executive Officer
Manages the day-to-day operations of GPAR, including staff, budget and programs. Works closely with the Board of Directors and Executive Committee on fulfilling mission and strategic plan of GPAR.

Donna LePera, Director of Member Services
Manages member relations, including maintaining member records. Ensures members, directors and staff are operating in compliance with NAR, PAR, and GPAR Bylaws. Oversees New Member Orientation and Code of Ethics trainings and handles Real Estate Commission questions, including education requirements.

Jeanna Raleigh, Director of Finance
Manages accounts payable/receivable, dues billing, and electronic key cards for GPAR. Oversees technology, including hardware, software and membership management database. Serves as staff liaison for the Horizons Committee.

Melody Zimmerman, Director of Government & Public Affairs
Manages GPAR’s government affairs efforts. Responsible for grassroots advocacy, key contact program, candidate screening process and RPAC fundraising. Serves as staff liaison for Government Affairs, Diversity, Young Professionals’ Network, and RPAC committees.

Cheryl Adams, Professional Standards Administrator
Serves as first point of contact for members and visitors to GPAR. Processes all requests for arbitration and ethics complaints and maintains complete records of Professional Standards proceedings. Provides staff support for Grievance Committee, including minutes and notification of meetings.
